Colouring is red and brown.<br \/>\nTexture pattern is defined by evenly spaced and oriented in the same direction large, bulky grains of predominantly red potassium feldspar of 0.5-9 cm (content up to 30 \u2014 80%) and white plagioclase 0.5-3 cm (up to 15-20%) and evenly distributed isomorphic grains of translucent quartz of 0.3-0.8 cm (up to 35%) and a dark red garnet of 0.3-1.5 cm (up to 10%).<br \/>\nThere is also a small amount (2-6%) of mafic minerals particularly biotite. Mixture of grains of plagioclase, garnet mafic minerals is observed in potassium feldspar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mineral Composition of Granite<\/strong>:<br \/>\n\u2014 Plagioclase 12-38%<br \/>\n\u2014 K-feldspar 18-83%<br \/>\n\u2014 Quartz 12-38%<br \/>\n\u2014 Biotite 0-6%<br \/>\n\u2014 Garnet 0-8%<\/p>\n<p><strong>Physical and Mechanical Properties of Granite:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2014 Porosity 1.2%<br \/>\n\u2014 Water absorption 0.23%<br \/>\n\u2014 Compressive strength (dry) 1710 kgf \/ cm2<br \/>\n\u2014 Reduction factor of strength when saturated with water 0.86<br \/>\n\u2014 Abrasiveness\u00a00.70 g \/ cm2<br \/>\n\u2014 After 50 cycles of freezing 1401 kgf \/ cm3<br \/>\n\u2014 Bulk density 2,700 kg \/ m3<\/p>\n<p><strong>Constant porphyritic granite meets the requirements of DSTU EN 1467: 2007<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cNatural Stone Blocks for Facing Products\u201d and \u201cPlates, and Natural Stone Products\u201d<br \/>\nState Standard EN 1341: 2007,<br \/>\nEN 1342: 2007,<br \/>\nEN 1343: 2007,<br \/>\nEN 1468: 2007,<br \/>\nEN 12057: 2007,<br \/>\nEN 1469: 2007<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Granite is coarse with holocrystalline structure and massive texture.
